Return to Shore

I spent the last 3 weeks at sea, working 20-22 hours a day. It's quite a change from my job in Okinawa; very demanding, but I love it!

Peruvian Night

I've had Peruvian food once in Okinawa, Japan; however, it failed in comparison to the Imperio Inca in Norfolk, Va. It was delicious. On the table are the appetizers: Inca Ceviche (Raw Fish marinated in lime and cilantro) and the Inca Sampler (Tamal, Papa Rellena, and a La Huancaina).
The main courses are the Arroz con Mariscos (rice with seafood) and the Parihuela (super seafood soup). I'm sure my friends, Johnny and Diana (from Peru living in Japan) would love the food!!

Mitzi Visits IKE

While in town, Mitzi visited the ship. For my brother; yes, that's the USS SAN JACINTO (CG 56) in the background.

Baja Taco's

If you're ever in the Norfolk area, you can eat-out almost every night down in the Ghent District. This place is loaded with restaurants providing a wide array of food choices. Tonight, I went to Pelon's Baja Grill. It's a nice place specializing in California style Mexican food. I went with the recommended Fish taco's. Not bad--Definitely beats Taco Bell. (I did not have my camera tonight, pics taken from Pelon's webpage)

Joe's Crab Shack

We tried Joe's Crab Shack in Hampton, Virginia this week. I don't have a lot of places to compare it to, but it was very good. I had the "Steamed Bucket" which included three different types of crab legs, a sausage, new potatoes, corn on the cob and shrimp--all for about $20.00.

Panera For Mitzi

Mitzi is with me for a short visit. While she is in town, she had to stock-up on her favorite bagels from Panera Bread.
