We took my mom out for her Birthday (Happy Birthday Mom) at the Houston in Mason, Ohio. On the menu was frog legs and ribs. It was my first time eating frog legs. Very good!
Our cat, Yuki, must be one of the most spoiled felines out there. He wakes us up in the morning to fix him a cup of water. Then, he enjoys laying next to the fireplace on cold winter mornings.
This week we visited the annual Sauerkraut Festival in Waynesville, Ohio. We sampled Sauerkraut Fudge, Fried Apples, Sauerkraut Cookies, Stuffed Cabbage and Sauerkraut Pork and Mash Potatoes.
More football this week. This morning, we went to watch my nephew J.D. put a hurt on some kids a lot bigger than he is. These kids are pretty good for only being 5 and 6 years old.
I was given a short-notice invitation by my brother to go the Bengals vs Colts preseason game. Cincinnati crushed them 38-7. Yea, yea, preseason--but a win is a win!!
Brooke starts school this week. She is attending Sinclair Community College, pursuing a Culinary Arts degree. All her classes this term will be at the Mason Campus. (This way she can go to Kings Island as soon as class is over)
I've been getting some golf in while I'm been going back and forth to Ohio. Some of the courses I've played have been: Vista Verde in Fairfield TWP, The Mound in Miamisburg, Potters Park in Hamilton, TPC Franklin and The Robins Nest in Harrison.
The WAFFLE HOUSE! I've seen them all over the country, but this weekend was my first stop. It was delicious, quick and hot. The smothered, covered, chopped and diced hash browns hit the mark!
We visited Mt Rushmore this week. The place is awesome. Due to the long drive, we only spent about 3 days. You could easily spend a week and just get started. The views and wildlife were breathtaking.
